About DLLE
The Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension (DLLE), earlier known as the Department of Adult and Continuing Education and Extension was established on October 12, 1978. The objective of DLLE is to promote meaningful and long-term relationships between universities and the community. Since 1994, DLLE has been recognized as a statutory Department of the University of Mumbai. Shri Chinai College of Commerce & Economics has commenced DLLE in the year 2013-14. College is successfully executing two extension programs of DLLE i.e.
Career Project (CP) since 2013-14 and Status of Women in the Society (SWS) have been embraced in the year 2020-2021. So far DLLE of our college is putting constant efforts to inculcate social consciousness amongst our students. The process of inculcating social consciousness amongst students is linked to self-awareness and the field experience which collectively helps the students to build social sensitivity.
The aim behind selecting Career Project (CP) is to create self-awareness amongst students about a career in-depth particularly if s/he aspires to take it up. Under this extension activity, students collect primary data through interviews, prepare charts and brochures of the career they aspire.
The objective behind selecting Status of Women in the Society (SWS) is to make students conscious of women’s status in our society. In this students collect primary data through interviewing women to understand their financial literacy and financial decisions making along with these the DLLE department also execute following the program for the students community benefits.

Through DLLE college is creating social awareness amongst students and teachers for the betterment of society.
The students participating in the extension work under dept. are entitled to the benefit of 10 Grace marks on the satisfactory completion of 120 hours under ordinance 229-A
The DLLE organize in the month of January or February Competition for DLLE students like Udaan Festival.
There are many competitions at the Udaan event, such as street play, poster making, elocution and powada competitions, and so on. This is an excellent chance for DLLE students. This festival encourages the development of skills and teamwork among students.
